Deen Hospital was founded by Dr R V Asokan and Dr Laila Asokan in June 1983. It had originally functioned from the Nehru Memorial Municipal complex in TB Junction, Punalur. The current new building was completed in May 1999 with the financial support of KFC. Dr R V Asokan is a post graduate in General Medicine (MD).
1983 ജൂണ് മാസം ഡോ . ആര് വി അശോകനും ഡോ. ലൈല അശോകനും ചേര്ന്നാണ് പുനലൂര് ദീന് ഹോസ്പിറ്റല് ആരംഭിച്ചത്. പ്രാരംഭഘട്ടത്തില് പുനലൂര് ടിബി ജംഗ്ഷനിലുള്ള നെഹ്റു മെമ്മോറിയല് മുനിസിപ്പല് സമുച്ചയത്തിലാണ് ഇത് പ്രവര്ത്തിച്ചിരുന്നത്. നിലവിലുള്ള പുതിയ കെട്ടിടം കെ എഫ് സിയുടെ സാമ്പത്തിക സഹായത്തോടെ 1999 മെയ് മാസത്തില് പൂര്ത്തിയായി. ഡോ. ആര് വി അശോകന് ജനറല് മെഡിസിനില് (എംഡി) ബിരുദാനന്തര ബിരുദധാരിയാണ് .
